Dr.Aleza Rizvi is a distinguished academician and researcher in the field of Pharmacy. With 15 years of experience in teaching, research, and academic administration, she has established herself as a leading expert in Pharmacognosy & Phytochemistry. Currently serving as a Professor at Hygia Institute of Pharmacy ,she has a strong track record of publishing research papers in reputed national and international journals. Her research interests include herbal plant and natural sources to treat abnormal behavior due to stress, especially neurobehaviour disorders. She has supervised numerous students at the undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral levels. She is a passionate mentor known for her ability to inspire and motivate students to achieve academic excellence. She has received several awards and accolades for teaching and research. In addition to her academic pursuits. She has been an active member and in editorial board of many reputed journals . Her commitment to academic excellence, research, and community service has made her a respected and admired figure in the academic community.

Dr. Avani Gupta is a dedicated educator and academician with over 13 years of experience in teaching and academic leadership. As the Head of the Department, she is committed to fostering academic excellence and innovation.
Dr. Gupta plays a pivotal role in leading, managing, and developing the department to achieve the highest standards of teaching, research, and student outcomes. Her visionary leadership ensures the alignment of the department’s goals with the institute’s mission to create a dynamic and collaborative learning environment.
With a strong focus on academic strategy, she drives curriculum development, modern teaching methodologies, and interdisciplinary approaches that enhance student engagement and learning outcomes. Dr. Gupta is also actively involved in mentoring faculty and students, encouraging their growth and professional development.
A passionate advocate for integrating research with education, Dr. Gupta’s expertise lies in pharmaceutics, where she contributes to advancing the field through her academic initiatives and research endeavors.

With 19 years of cherished experience and a Ph.D. in Pharmaceutical Chemistry, her learning journey knows no bounds. As an active member of the Women’s Forum for the Association of Pharmaceutical Teachers of India (APTI), she is deeply committed to advancing education. Her passion for introducing new ideas has driven her to organize numerous national hands-on workshops, events, and lecture series in collaboration with APTI, all aimed at equipping students and faculty with the latest learning methodologies.
Understanding the evolving landscape of education, she spearheaded an initiative to introduce innovative teaching methods at the Hygia campus. Along with her team, she was featured on the NPTEL platform for using active learning and gamification initiatives to make learning exciting and effective for students.
Her dedication to education extends beyond the classroom. With profound subject knowledge, exceptional teaching skills, and extensive experience in curriculum development, she fosters a positive and impactful learning environment. She remains engaged in helping young minds to synthesize and explore new molecules through synthetic chemistry. She has participated in national and international conferences and published her work on molecular hybrids of phthalimide and hydrazinecarbothioamide in journals of repute.

Ph.D. in Pharmacology with expertise in animal handling, psychopharmacology screening and Interest in Behavioural science, Dementia, Psychopharmacology. Major research work on learning and memory, chemotherapy induced cognitive impairments, hyperlipidaemia, chronic unpredictable mild stress induced depression, non-alcoholic fatty liver disease, peptic ulcer. Guided 30 M.Pharmacy research scholars and presently guiding 7 M Pharm and 2 Ph.D. research scholars. Published 27 national and international research papers. CPCSEA nominee, Life member of Laboratory Animal Science Association of India ( LASAI). Member of various academic committees in different universities of India.
